How it works
You send an email. We send back files.
AccessibleAgenda fits the moment you already have: after the agenda is approved and before it goes online.
Email the PDF
Send your agenda or minutes to your town's private address, like docs-yourtown-k3f9qz@in.accessibleagenda.com. We only accept files from senders you approve. A new sender gets held until you say yes.
We confirm right away
Within seconds you get a short reply: “Got 1 file.” If something is wrong, like a password-protected PDF, we tell you in plain words.
We rebuild the document
We read the text (including scans), rebuild headings, lists and tables in the right reading order, describe images, and write both a web page and a tagged PDF. Your words stay exactly as published.
We check the result twice
Every file goes through veraPDF for PDF/UA-1 and axe for WCAG 2.1 AA. A second automated pass compares our output with your original, page by page. If anything looks uncertain, like handwriting or a blurry scan, a person reviews it before it goes out.
Files come back in the same email thread
You get the web page, the tagged PDF and a short report. If someone else posts for you, like your website vendor or webmaster, add their address in settings and they get the same files automatically. There is nothing to install and no software to learn.
Turnaround
Usually minutes. Always within one business day.
Typical agendas come back in a few minutes. Your first few documents also get a person’s check, and so do files with handwriting or a blurry scan. Those take longer, but you always hear back within one business day.
Your record stays yours
What we never change.
We do not reword motions, “fix” names, change dates, round numbers or remove legal language. The only text fixes are obvious scanning errors, and every one is listed in your report.
The checks, in plain words
What do veraPDF and axe mean?
- veraPDF
- A free, widely used tool that checks whether a PDF follows the PDF/UA-1 accessibility rules. Passing is strong evidence, but no automated tool catches everything.
- axe
- A widely used checker for web pages. It tests against WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules, like headings, contrast, labels and language.
